Dr Pamela Seaton, BSc(Hons), DPsych(Clin), MAPS, MAPSCCP, Clinical Psychologist
Dr Pamela Seaton earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of New England (UNE). She brings a wide range of knowledge and experience to her training workshops, consultancy and clinical work. Dr Seaton has special interest and expertise in diagnosis, treatment and support of children, adolescents and adults with Asperger's Syndrome. She is highly regarded for her work in this area.
In her clinical practice, Dr Seaton enjoys providing a safe and supportive environment for children, adolescents and adults to explore and understand their current difficulties and to learn new skills to help them achieve their individual goals. In addition to her expertise in Asperger's Syndrome, Dr Seaton has specialised training and clinical experience in:
Psychological and psychometric assessment, including Neuropsychological assessment
Acquired brain injury
Assessment of and intervention for ADD, ADHD and behavioural disorders, such as Conduct and Oppositional Defiant Disorder
Assessment of, and individual and family therapy for Psychosis
Anxiety disorders, including panic and phobias
Eating disorders assessment and intervention
Treatment for sleep disturbance
Chronic Pain management
Depression.
Dr Seaton is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), and the APS College of Clinical Psychologists, and in recent years spent a term as Chair of the Executive Committee of the Toowoomba Branch of the APS. She is an international affiliate of the American Psychological Association (APA) and a member of the Australian Centre on Quality of Life (ACQOL).
Barbara Stubbs, BPsych, GDipPsych, GCert MHP, GCertDEdu, Assoc MAPS, Psychologist
Barbara holds professional qualifications in two fields, those being psychology and diabetes education. She has a special interest in the psychological impact of chronic conditions, such as diabetes, not only for the person with the condition, but for family, friends and society. Barbara specialises in the area of children and youth with Type 1 diabetes.
In addition, Barbara has experience and professional clinical knowledge in screening, assessing and implementing treatments for Co-existing Disorders, and in the field of Transcultural Mental Health. She has lived and worked within the rural North West of Queensland, working with Indigenous and Non-Indigenous persons. She has worked for a number of years in a clinical mental health practice. And more recently, Barbara has worked in New Zealand, as an Alcohol and Drug Clinical Case Manager with Maori and Pakeha persons. Working in Australia and New Zealand, Barbara has gained a wide range of professional skills in the assessment and treatment of numerous psychological and behavioural disorders.
Barbara's areas of expertise include:

Assessment and therapeutic interventions for relapse prevention and maintenance of optimal health
Assessment and treatments for child and youth difficulties
Screening, assessment and treatment for substance misuse
Family therapy.
Barbara's approach is collective, directed from a bio-psycho-social framework. She applies evidence based therapeutic interventions with a humanistic style to cognitive and behavioural objectives. She has specific skills in Motivational Therapy, Solution Focus Therapy, Problem Solving Therapy, Social Behaviour and Networking Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Family Therapy and Creative Therapy. Barbara is an associate member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Michael Herd, BEd, DipT, GDipCounselling, GDipPsych, PGDipPsych, MEdStud, Assoc MAPS, Psychologist
Michael has a background in education, and prior to working as a Psychologist, worked as a Teacher and Guidance Counsellor with Education Queensland. As a Guidance Counsellor, Michael was engaged in counselling of children, parents and staff, educational and behavioural assessments, developing behaviour plans for children having difficulty in the classroom, and coordinating support plans to integrate children with special needs. While engaged in this role, Michael also spent 16 years working in the Management of Young Children Program. This is an intensive behaviour support program for parents experiencing significant behavioural difficulties with their children. As a result of this work, Michael has developed a particular interest in assisting families having parenting difficulties.
Michael has specific training in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

ADHD assessment and treatment
Assessment and treatment of children, teenagers and adults with Depression, Anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Phobias and Stress
Assessment and treatment of children, teenagers and adults with Asperger's Syndrome
Practitioner training in all "Triple P" interventions
Parenting presentations for parent groups
Daycare Centre staff training in managing children's behaviour.
Michael is an associate member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Andrew Seaton, PhD, Business Manager
Andrew Seaton wears a few different hats in his working life. These include a Business Management role at Dr Pamela Seaton & Associates. Andrew is also on the reception desk at Warwick on alternate Friday mornings.
Andrew Seaton also operates an online store called "Inspiring Stuff", with outlets also at our Toowoomba and Warwick centres. Inspiring Stuff sells a small but expanding range of uplifting and practically helpful books, CDs and DVDs (including selected titles on Psychology and Asperger's Syndrome), artworks, personal care items, clothing and homewares.
Andrew Crosby, Toowoomba Centre Manager
Andrew Crosby has responsibility for the day-to-day administration at Dr Pamela Seaton & Associates. His role includes handling client enquiries, bookings and payments, and a heap of behind-the-scenes management tasks that support the rest of the team and keep the centre functioning smoothly.
Andrew is at Jasmine Place from Monday to Friday.
Jody Federer, Receptionist / Admin Assistant ~ Toowoomba
Jody is with us three days a week at our Toowoomba Centre, assisting with reception, bookings, payments processing and a heap of odds and ends that keep our wheels turning.
